This place is situated on a corner, which allowed for some pretty nice people-watching for myself and two co-workers as we were seated at a table near the front of the place. We actually sat at the bar and imbibed during our 10 minute wait for said table. The bar staff was really friendly and helpful when we had questions. Our waitress for the evening seemed to have a little more difficulty giving us an accurate idea of what to expect from the entrees, but nevertheless, we ordered the first things that looked good to us. I'll be the Debbie Downer and speak for my group (who actually agreed with me)...the meals weren't the greatest. Had it not been for me ordering the Bello Cucina version of bosco sticks, we would've all gone back to the hotel with empty bellies. One of my coworkers ordered fish which she found to be salty and "not fresh" tasting. The other order a pasta dish which, for a guy who'll eat just about anything, he ate very little of, leaving the majority of it on the table. I had the equivalent of a head of lettuce as my salad. The saving grace is that this place seems newer and I think they've just got a lot of room for improvement on the food. The staff seems great though. Onward and upward, Bello Cucina!

Nice corner spot in downtown St. Joseph. Thrilled that my hometown has a new restaurant with inspired Italian cuisine and terrace seating to enjoy the lovely Minnesota summer weather.

poor service and a charge for an extra basket of bread, lots of pasta on the menu but almost all of it Alfredo. best item is the seared tuna salad

When Bello Cucina first opened, it seemed like greater attention was paid to the food and food preparation. I will say that in subsequent years, I've noticed a slight decline in the quality of food. On subsequent visits I haven't been nearly as impressed. As this particular chain has expanded to other small towns throughout Minnesota it seems as if less attention has been paid to quality. I've had a number of pasta dishes and sandwiches here, and have enjoyed most of them. The prices, aside from the lunch specials, are a bit high. During nice weather, the patio is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy an evening meal as the sun is setting. The sweet potato fries, served as an option with a lunch sandwich, are very good. You'll enjoy most of the pasta dishes. On one occasion, while dining with friends, we were told they do not bring out additional bread (the first basket is complimentary) to accompany the meal without a cost. We found this disappointing. The restaurant was also unusually loud that evening and made visiting difficult. All in all, I've enjoyed the food. It's one of the nicer restaurants in St. Joseph, but given a choice, I'd drive a couple more miles and go to Cafe Renaissance if you're looking for a nicer dining experience. You'll pay the same, but come away with a more memorable experience.

Spent an awesome evening on the patio with friends. Idyllic. Lots of happy diners. Dangerously delicious food.

While not so bad as to be a one star, it wasn't great either. Everything from the calamari (tough and globbed together in one big clump) to the entrees, were way, waaaay over salted. Majority of dishes are Alfredo. While the decor was nice, the cement floors seem to echo everything, and the music was so loud you couldn't hold a conversation without feeling like you were broadcasting it back to St Cloud. For the price, was really let down. Nice view of the pretty cathedral across the street. Turn the music down to ambient level, do a little more kitchen quality control testing and I think this could be a great place. So, I do have hope for Bello Cucina.

Smoked turkey BLT was awesome, so we're the fries. Good Italian food. Would recommend.

I had an early dinner here Thursday. The large patio was already busy. I sat at a table near the bar. Zach brought a menu, warm crisp bread with olive oil an a good Pinot noir. The capellini with marinara and meatballs came quickly. I am often tempted by Osso buco but I had a late lunch and wanted something lighter. Many menu options. The marinara looked and tasted like today's tomatoes, fresh and tasty, not a ragu. The added meatballs were small and tasty. BC is one of the best spots in the county for food and atmosphere. PLUS, when I couldn't find my credit card -- I had rushed out for a meeting -- I called. They promised to send it to me pronto.

Our second attempt at Bello Cucina was as disappointing as the first. We arrived around 5:45 to a full patio, but empty restaurant. I did not think we would need a reservation, apparently I was wrong. We were informed by the hostess that they were full and it would be a 45 minute wait. I made a point to turn my head, look around and said "It is empty." She told us due to previous reservations they did not have room, however we could wait in the bar. The bar which serves the full menu and had 2 people seated in it. We chose a small cafe table, ordered our drinks and food. The Osso Buca was great, hubs order of Chicken Parmesan could feed our whole family...with leftovers. The food was what is saving this review score. The entire hour we were there not one person was seated in the dining room. I counted 10 couples walk in and walk back out, after being told they needed reservations. Sadly we won't be back, our first visit was shortly after they opened. While the food has improved the staff, ambiance and music volume has not. We had high hopes for this to be one of our new locally owned, date night places.

Family of four dined here on a Saturday late afternoon so restaurant was pretty much empty. When food came, 3 of our 4 dishes were steaming hot, but the butternut Ravioli with lobster was lukewarm. After two bites it was sent back to be warmed. Everyone else ate and enjoyed their food pending the return of the ravioli. It arrived and was finished before any of the other plates of food. One reason for my rating of 3 was the disproportionate sizes in the meals. The ravioli was a very small portion, the chicken Parmesan was enough to feed 3 adults. The other two entrees were in between. Overall prices were high for what you get. $13.50 for spaghetti is a bit high and no salad or extras with it. Seriously it Costs about $1.00 for the entire bit of ingredients. (We didn't order it because it seemed like a rip off). Overall food tasted good but was not worth the prices. Would have been nice to be offered outdoor seating or extra bread.

Ok, just left without eating a thing. Place was empty and service was sloooooow. Actually had to stop the waitress to order a beer. Waited too long for her to return to order food, the artichoke dip was delivered with 5 of the 6 pieces of bread burnt. We asked for the server to take them away and replace them. She replied offered to replace the toast but replied, I don't want them". We answerd, neither do we. Things went downhill from there. We asked for the bill for my beer, she said if we wanted to leave we could just go. We did.

My husband and I made it here for a special occasion and were not really impressed. He had the all you can eat crab and I had a pasta with some vodka marina sauce. I thought I was going to get drunk off the vodka sauce... Also the crab cakes were deep fried in the same fryer everything else was cuz it just tasted like fried food.. Nothing more nothing less! We won't be back.. Too bad cuz it has the potential! Also I did email the business to let them know we were less than satisfied with no response.. :/

We called on Martin Luther King day, to get a reservation for my wife's birthday. We had friends come up from Minneapolis, and my wife specifically wanted to go to Bello, having been there before. We left a message as instructed to make our reservation for a table of five. But arriving at the restaurant we saw that it was dark. I left another voice message saying we were not pleased that their voicemail did not state that they were closed for MLK Day. Only the next day did we get a message left on my phone that they were closed that Monday for a training session! It was a very rushed message, sounded insincere. My wife said to forget them forever! Perhaps their training session could have addressed how to update their voicemail so as not to inconvenience folks who traveled so far to visit them. Unbelievably unprofessional experience! Will not be back.

Awesome fresh from scratch food prepared for the table. Amazing blackened steak with goatcheese butter. The lobster mac n cheese is also very very good. GLUTEN FREE FRIENDLY. AGAIN, GLUTEN FREE IS NOT A PROBLEM. The lunches are great...mahi on rissotto f

Walked in without a reservation on a saturday evening. Food was good to great, everything else was abysmal. 25 minutes wait when 10 of their 25 tables where available, 95¢ for a piece of Texas toast they claim is 'garlic bread', small bathroom that seemed to always have a wait, horrible service .. List goes on and on. If you enjoy good food, go .. But prepare for one of the worst experiences of your life.

This was my firs time to Bello Cucina. Hell - it was my first time to St Joseph. The interior is nicely laid out so I has a feeling it was going to be a nice evening. The table and seats were comfortable and the view outside was nice as well. I enjoyed the Honey Dijon Pork Tenderlion which was cooked perfect. It also came with the Red Pepper Risotto and fresh steamed vegetables. I was part of the clean plate club that evening. The bread was so fresh too. All in all, a delightful experience.

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
